Leeds Music Hub - Music Rights and Revenue Streams

Pete Bott from Blacks Solicitors is running a FREE seminar focusing on artists rights & sources of income and the contracts that govern these.

The high-profile "360" deals signed by Madonna and Jay Z in the last decade have had a trickle-down effect that has even reached small independents. As a result, musicians are now entering into multiple contracts encompassing everything from recording and publishing to live, merchandising and endorsement rights and income. Music law specialist Pete Bott of Blacks Solicitors LLP will explain these various rights and how to understand their related contracts.

Pete is a member of the Music, Media & Entertainment law team at Blacks Solicitors LLP, Leeds and deals with all aspects of the law in those sectors, specialising in music contracts and copyright. Prior to joining Blacks, Pete worked in the music industry for many years as an artist, writer and producer signed to 679/Warner Records (Plan B, The Streets & Marina & the Diamonds). Pete continues to work closely with local, national and international artists and music industry professionals, and also guest-lectures on music law at local universities and colleges.
