Plugged In Yorkshire and 360 Live present the Industry Day

360 Live takes place between the 16 - 19 February and will link all BBC Introducing shows across Yorkshire. The aim of 360 Live is to promote the regions great talent, great venues, great promoters, great music organisations and businesses who are involved in supporting and developing the regions music industry.

This Music Industry Support day will feature panels of experts offering tips and advice to give Yorkshire's aspiring music industry enterprises the best chances of succeeding

Doors open 9.30pm first talk at 10.30am prompt. The café bar will be open from 9.30am.


10.30 – 11.30: 
Getting started: Your first meaningful gigs & developing a National buzz. How to get meaningful gigs, Getting on the road & making it work for you. (Tim Hornsby - Tim invented, ran and booked York Fibbers from 1992 until 2008; and then York Duchess from 2008 until 2010)


11.45 – 12.45: Radio & Press: How local & national radio & press, work – make it work for you. (Simon Glacken - founder of Leeds based rock label Brew Records. Alan Raw - presents BBC Introducing West Yorkshire & BBC Introducing Humberside)

12.45 – 1.15: Break

1.15 – 2.15: Getting label interest and the DIY release. (Frank Wilkes - Artists Development coordinator at Plugged in Yorkshire / Higher Rhythm an organisation which encompasses a number of strands including Sine FM, Higher Rhythm Recording Studios, the Event Horizon, Higher Rhythm Publishing and Circuit Records)

2.30 – 3.30: Managers: Why pay them 20%? What do they do? & How can they help you (Edward Mason - London based Edward manages bands including Wild Beasts, Erland & The Carnival, The Magnetic North and The Rosie Taylor Project)

3.45 – 4.45: Publishing: What is publishing? - getting income from sync’ - TV, Film, Gaming, Adverts et al. (Roo Pigott - Co-creator of one of the world’s first successful fan-funded record labels and raising near to £100,000 within a month in the process - Creator of MusiCode, a mobile technology allowing ‘one-click’ impulse connection from real world to online world)
